Sarongs are great for covering up bikini and swimsuit figure flaws such as cellulite, stomach rolls, thunder thighs, and a large buttocks. A sarong or sarung is a large tube or length of fabric wrapped around the woman's waist and worn as a swimsuit cover up. A fashionable sarong can work great as a swimsuit cover up for plus size women. The fashion queen of the sarong is Kim Kardashian. With her curvy voluptuous body she looks great in a sarong. In this article we will talk about what you should look for when shopping and buying sarongs. The ideal length is medium, and the ideal weight is also medium. Keep reading for these tips on how to look fabulous and funky in your beach sarong, not junky and chunky. This is important stuff because it is all too easy to slip out of sexy hotness and into moo-moo ville in that sarong. Biggest sarong wearing tip is to take it to the tailer and get it sized or hemmed perfectly to cover the flaws without adding even an extra inch of any excess bulky material.

SARONGS FOR PLUS SIZE SWIMSUITS

COVERING UP A PLUS SIZE FIGURE

Most plus sized women dread the swimsuit season. With an over weight figure, women might be inclined to go for that floral or all black one piece swimsuit, or worse yet, a skort swimsuit with the built in ugly dreaded skirt (hideous). What plus sized women don't realize is that with a little ingenuity they can work their voluptuous curves to their advantage. Suck in your stomach and be sure to stand up straight in your swimsuit as good posture will improve your swimsuit presentation. Try a variety of stores when shopping for your plus size swimsuit as the more options you try the better chance you have of finding that one suit that looks great on you. Try the department stores and even plus size stores for variety.

Completely covering up a plus size figure can sometimes make you look even larger than you really are! Many women of plus size opt for the one piece swimsuit. The right one piece can look great, but certain one piece styles can inadvertently blot out the woman's best plus size asset, her breasts. If you are not too overweight, you can often look better in a bikini with a supportive top and bottom covering sarong, than you might look in a one piece! Be sure to try on a variety of different swimsuit configurations before relagating yourself to a skirted one piece swim suit. In hot weather you can get a sarong wet, the sun will dry it quickly.

Sarongs come in all different prints, colors and patterns. Some are brightly colored by batik or ikat dyeing and others are plaid, checkered, woven or printed with depictions of animals, plants or hawaiian patterns. They are great for covering a large buttocks, thighs, legs or stomach. When shopping for a swimsuit keep in mind that you can add a fashionable sarong to the beach outfit that will help you to feel more covered and comfortable in that summer swimwear.

The most concerning figure flaws of plus size and full figured women are the hips, thighs and buttocks. Celebs like Kim kardashian wear sarongs like they should be worn. Look for bikini complimenting colors, and the sarong should be mid length and medium weight. The most flattering styles are tied in front. flimsy fabric doesn't cover effectively and heavy blanket sarongs with too much cloth make you look heavier. shop for the perfect color and even get a sarong tailored if need be so that it has just the right bulk weight, length and body coverage to make you look your absolute bikini best

ENHANCING YOUR BUTTOCK CURVES

If you have a problem area you are dealing with, consider these pointers. First of all, try swimsuits on at the store. You have a better chance of concealing flaws with a suit you can try on. If you have body problems, only buy a suit online if you are familiar with the designer brand and style and fairly certain it will work for you. It may be safest to try it on in the store first, then order it online if doing so saves you money. Check the rear view and take a picture if you need to. If you have a big buttocks or thick hips that you feel can't be exposed in a two piece bikini then buy a one piece suit. If you are going to swim and be active you need to be comfortable.

Get a suit with an angled bottom. You don't want legs cut straight across the thigh as that will make you look bigger, nor do you want a suit with too high of a leg cut. Likewise, make sure the legs don't cut into your skin creating new bulges that don't even exist.

Colors will effectively draw attention from the problem area. Too many patterns are going to look tacky and touristy, however sometimes patterns can draw attention away from problem areas. This is where you can do something like combine a solid color bottom with a patterned top. Likewise, details like string ties, braided accents or hoops can draw attention away from the problem body parts. Make sure your breasts are uplifted and flattered by the suit as this too can draw attention away from problem hips, legs, thighs and buttocks.

Some of the more expensive retailers create suits for the larger woman. The cuts, fabrics and styles are thought out for you. Therefore, if you really need that suit consider it a necessary expense. Spend the money as a swimsuit can last a few seasons and it is critical for self esteem sake, to get the best look you can afford.

BEST BEACH SARONG BIKINI COVERUP STYLES & take sarong to tailer to cut to perfect size

When it comes to your swimsuit, too much texturing, fringe, frill, flopping skirts and noisy Hawaiian patterns are going to draw attention to a heavyset stature. Opt for clean flat lines and panels. As for bikini texturing, think subtle sex appeal accents. For example, tassels, string ties, beaded accent or rings look beautiful when coupled with clean flat polished fabric lines. When it comes to sarongs to go with your bikini, style and size of the sarong is critical. Too bulky or light weight of a sarong won't work. Consider taking your sarong to the tailer and pay to have it cut and hemmed to the perfect size such that it covers your flaws but stays minimal in fabric yardage. Obviously too much excess fabric just adds weight and will make you look fatter for no reason.

Having looked at hundreds and hundreds of pictures of women wearing sarongs both in real life and online through the various stores, I would have to say that celebrity Kim Kardashian has the sarong style down to a science. She covers only what she needs to with the sarong - her hips and derriere.

Little flimsy sarongs that come with the bikini and are meant to be going swimming in, just come off looking too flimsy and petite on the larger woman. Leave the little tiny side tie scarf's/sarongs in the same pattern as the bikini off your buy list. They are too teensy and sheer and unless you have a Venus swimwear figure the plus size women will look like a whale in them. Instead, shop for simple cotton sarongs and just the coverage you need.

The other extreme sarong to avoid is the true pareo. These are the very heavy fill skirts. You do not want a pareo that drops past your knees or to the floor. Likewise, heavy drapery material or too much material is going to add unnecessary bulk to your body. You don't want to look like you are wearing a kilt. The sarong heaviness you are looking for is medium weight and size. You don't want the flimsiest, nor do you want a heavy one with too much cloth to it. If you find a sarong that you love the pattern but is too heavy, consider getting it hemmed smaller as this is well worth the investment in making it more light weight.

You will see that many of the sarong advertisements show the sarong tied at the side. While the side tie sarong shows a peek a boo leg, I hate to say it, it does not particularly flatter the more voluptuous woman. Kim Kardashian wears her sarong tied at dead center, and quite honestly this looks really good. Consider tying the sarong at center. Get a sarong that is heavy enough to cover your buttocks, hips, stomach and upper thighs but only just covering them. Don't have it come down past the knees. Look for a medium to light weight cotton sarong and try tyeing it in the front to make yourself look the skinniest. Find a nice complimentary color to your swimsuit or bikini. Since sarongs come in patterns and prints, it can be easiest to match them with a solid color bikini. If you have a patterned bikini, then try to find a sarong in a solid color like white, cream, light blue or black for example.

If you find a sarong that matches your suit but is too bulky, don't play around with bunching the material up and looking bulkier than you need to. Take that sarong to the tailer and pay the fee to have it hemmed shorter or narrower. You want the exact fabric coverage that you need to cover the flaws and no more. You can instantly lose ten pounds just by hemming off excess material from that sarong. If you find the perfect fabric match to your bikini or swimsuit but the sarong is too big then definitely get it and pay to get it custom sized smaller, especially if you really love the sarong color or print. All the sarongs shown at right are super pretty however the heavier ones need tailering in order to be figure slimming. Taking your sarong to the tailer and paying for custom sarong sizing and re-hemming is is the smartest thing you can do. Stay tuned on more sarong tips in coming bikini beach body articles
